158 Hospitals Nationwide Honored for Excellence in Cardiovascular Care
The American Heart Association recognizes 158 hospitals with the Commitment to Quality award for their high performance in comprehensive cardiovascular care, underscoring the importance of evidence-based treatments in combating heart disease and stroke.

The American Heart Association has awarded 158 hospitals across the United States with the Commitment to Quality award, recognizing their excellence in providing comprehensive cardiovascular care. This initiative highlights the critical role of evidence-based clinical treatments and collaborative care in improving patient outcomes for heart disease and stroke, the leading causes of death in the country.
These hospitals have demonstrated high performance across three or more clinical areas within the Get With The Guidelines® program, a quality improvement initiative that ensures care teams utilize the latest scientific research to guide treatment decisions. Adherence to these guidelines has been shown to enhance recovery, minimize complications, and reduce hospital readmissions.
Donald Lloyd-Jones, M.D., Sc.M., FAHA, emphasized the significance of a systemwide commitment to quality care, stating, 'Hospitals earning the Commitment to Quality award show what’s possible when health care teams work together to apply the latest science across multiple areas of patient care.' The awards, ranging from bronze to gold plus status, reflect the duration and effectiveness of a hospital's adherence to key treatment measures.
