1994 Jaguar XJ220, the Last of Its Kind, Joins DFW Car & Toy Museum Collection

The DFW Car & Toy Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, has recently acquired a remarkable piece of automotive history: the last 1994 Jaguar XJ220 ever produced. This car, chassis number 617, is not just any vehicle but a symbol of British engineering excellence and a testament to Jaguar's ambition to compete with the world's leading supercar manufacturers. Finished in Le Mans Blue over Smoke Grey leather, this XJ220 was part of Jaguar's private collection before joining the museum's prestigious Ron Sturgeon Collection.

The Jaguar XJ220 is celebrated for its groundbreaking design and performance. Initially revealed as a concept at the 1988 Birmingham Auto Show, the overwhelming demand led Jaguar to produce a limited number of these supercars. The XJ220 was designed to reach a top speed of 220 mph, a target it nearly achieved during tests in Nardò, Italy. Its twin-turbocharged V6 engine not only promised but delivered unparalleled speed and luxury, setting new benchmarks for production cars at the time.

Brian Sturgeon, Director of the DFW Car & Toy Museum, expressed his admiration for the XJ220, stating, 'The XJ220 embodies everything we love about automotive passion and innovation.' The car's addition to the museum offers visitors a unique opportunity to witness a pivotal moment in Jaguar's history and the evolution of supercars. Alongside over 200 rare cars and thousands of collectible toys, the XJ220 stands as a highlight of the museum's collection.

The DFW Car & Toy Museum, located at 2550 McMillan Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76137, is one of Texas' premier attractions for automotive enthusiasts and families. With free admission and parking, the museum invites visitors to explore its vast collection, including the newly acquired Jaguar XJ220. The museum's commitment to preserving automotive history is evident in its acquisition of this iconic vehicle, ensuring that future generations can appreciate the XJ220's legacy.
