A16z Speedrun has opened applications for SR006, the latest edition of its startup accelerator program that offers up to $1 million in investment for selected companies globally. The 12-week program will begin in late January 2026 in San Francisco, culminating in a Demo Day in April 2026, providing hands-on mentorship, strategic guidance, and access to an elite global network to help startups scale faster.

Josh Lu, Principal at a16z, stated that the program remains energized by the success of its alumni who continue to redefine technological possibilities. Each new cohort brings bold ideas and fresh approaches that defy simple categorization, reflecting the accelerator's evolving potential for transformative innovation. The program has demonstrated significant growth since its launch in 2023, having deployed more than $180 million to fund over 150 startups.

SR005 marked a major milestone as the accelerator's largest and most diverse cohort to date, with more than 60 companies selected from over 14,000 applications, resulting in an acceptance rate of less than 0.5%. Founders represented a growing global footprint, including participants from Canada, Spain, France, Turkey, the UK, Israel, and numerous other countries. Throughout the program, founders gain access to Speedrun's unparalleled network of peers and alumni, along with workshops and coaching sessions led by visionaries across technology, venture capital, and entertainment.
