Adams & Reese has appointed Holt Whitt as a Government Relations Advisor in its Nashville office, bringing over 15 years of state government experience to the firm's Intersection of Business & Government Practice Group. Whitt most recently served as Assistant Commissioner for Legislative Affairs for the Tennessee Department of Health, where he played a pivotal role in developing the department's legislative agenda and securing passage of Governor Lee's health-related initiatives through the Tennessee General Assembly.

The hiring signals Adams & Reese's strategic focus on expanding its influence in Tennessee's rapidly growing healthcare sector, particularly in the Nashville area, which is emerging as a major hub for healthcare innovation. Whitt's deep understanding of Tennessee's healthcare infrastructure and his established relationships with key legislative members position the firm to better serve clients navigating the complex regulatory environment. His expertise comes at a critical time as the state's healthcare industry experiences significant expansion and transformation.

Brad Lampley, Adams & Reese IBG Practice Group Leader and Partner in Nashville, described Whitt as a home run hire for the firm's Government Relations Team. The team comprises more than 75 attorneys and advisors nationwide, including former state legislative leadership, former members of Congress, former economic development officials, and a former U.S. Ambassador. This collective expertise enables the firm to represent clients effectively at federal, state, and local government levels through comprehensive advocacy, lobbying, support, and legal counsel services.

Whitt's career includes serving as Senior Policy Advisor at the Tennessee Department of Human Resources, where he led legislative strategy and stakeholder engagement. He also held several senior leadership positions in the Tennessee General Assembly, including Interim Chief of Staff and Director of Legislation for the Speaker of the House, and Director of Policy and Research and Analyst for the Tennessee General Assembly's Republican Caucus. Through these roles, he developed extensive experience in liaison negotiations, bill passage coordination, and legislative evaluation.

The addition of Whitt to Adams & Reese's team reflects the increasing importance of government relations expertise in helping businesses navigate regulatory challenges and capitalize on growth opportunities. His appointment strengthens the firm's ability to assist clients in connecting with state and local government entities, supporting business expansion, and contributing to economic development across Tennessee. The move comes as businesses increasingly require sophisticated government relations support to address complex regulatory frameworks and leverage emerging opportunities in growing sectors like healthcare.
