Alsco Uniforms Donates $50,000 to Support Homeless Services in San Diego
Alsco Uniforms has donated $50,000 to Father Joe's Villages to support critical services for San Diego's homeless population, which exceeds 9,900 people amid record-high homelessness nationwide.

Alsco Uniforms has committed $50,000 to Father Joe's Villages to bolster services for individuals experiencing homelessness in San Diego County. The announcement came during the company's recent Managers Meeting in San Diego, where executives emphasized the growing crisis of homelessness affecting over 9,900 people in the region and reaching record highs across the United States.
Bob Steiner, Chief Executive Officer of Alsco Uniforms, stated the company's commitment to community involvement. "At Alsco Uniforms, we recognize that we are a part of the communities we serve," Steiner said. "We've been serving businesses in Southern California for 92 years, we feel at home here, and we want to help take care of our most vulnerable neighbors. Father Joe's has been helping people for 75 years, and we are honored to contribute to their important work."
The donation comes at a critical time when rising housing costs and insufficient resources have created major challenges for cities addressing homelessness. Father Joe's Villages, which began as a small chapel in 1950, has expanded over seven decades to provide comprehensive services including housing, meals, childcare, family services, medical and dental care, and vocational training. These programs address both immediate needs and long-term self-sufficiency goals for individuals seeking independence.
Deacon Jim Vargas, CEO of Father Joe's Villages, expressed gratitude for the corporate support. "We warmly thank Alsco Uniform for their generous gift of $50,000, a contribution that will support lifesaving work to help our neighbors access housing, health care, and a brighter future," Vargas said. "But this gift is more than even that: it's our own community coming together to show our neighbors that, together, we care."
The contribution represents Alsco Uniforms' ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts and reflects a growing trend of businesses addressing social issues in their operating communities. Francisco Lopez, General Manager of the Alsco Uniforms Vista branch, highlighted the personal significance of the donation. "I'm proud to work for a company that believes in giving back," Lopez said. "Father Joe's does so much to help people in San Diego, and I'm glad we can be a part of that."
