Alzheimer's Community Care Secures Funding to Expand Day Center Services for 58 New Participants
Alzheimer's Community Care has obtained new funding to cover specialized day center attendance for up to 58 additional participants with dementia-related disorders, providing crucial respite for caregivers and expanding access to therapeutic services in South Florida.
Alzheimer's Community Care, Florida's leading provider of dementia-specific services, has announced additional specialized day center funding that will cover attendance expenses for up to 58 new participants with dementia-related disorders. The funding will support five days per week of day center services for eight months, significantly expanding access to specialized care for families affected by Alzheimer's and related neurocognitive disorders.
The organization operates multiple Specialized Adult Alzheimer's Day Centers across Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties, with a complete list of centers and their operating hours available at https://www.alzcare.org/day-centers. These centers operate Monday through Friday and provide essential respite for caregivers while offering structured enrichment activities for patients.
David Franklin, President and CEO of Alzheimer's Community Care, emphasized the organization's commitment to supporting families navigating dementia challenges. "We are excited about this new funding, with which we can extend our day center services to more families and caregivers needing respite," Franklin stated. Participants at ACC's day centers engage in various therapeutic activities including art therapy, music therapy, and robotic pet therapy, with breakfast and lunch provided daily. These services not only support patients' cognitive and emotional well-being but also provide caregivers with much-needed breaks from the demanding responsibilities of daily care.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has served South Florida for over 20 years, Alzheimer's Community Care's expansion comes at a time when dementia care needs are increasing significantly.
