Angkor Resources Identifies Second Major Oil and Gas Drill Target in Cambodia's Block VIII
Angkor Resources has identified a second significant drill target for oil and gas exploration in Cambodia's Block VIII, expanding the potential energy development in the region through seismic analysis revealing two major anticline structures.

Angkor Resources Corp. has confirmed a second drill target for oil and gas exploration on its Block VIII project in Cambodia, following the completion of a 2-D seismic program. The company's Cambodian subsidiary, EnerCam Resources Co. Ltd., identified a second anticline in the Central Bokor Basin area, marking significant progress in the region's energy potential assessment.
The newly identified Central Bokor Lead shows clear four-way closure with an estimated depth range of 900-1200 meters, similar to the previously identified South Bokor structure. Keith Edwards, Technical Manager for EnerCam, noted that the Central Bokor structure displays hints of East-West faulting and potentially three separate high points on the overall structure. Current seismic coverage provides confidence in a four-way closure spanning approximately 60 square kilometers, as detailed in the seismic analysis available at https://www.newmediawire.com.
Delayne Weeks, CEO of Angkor Resources, expressed enthusiasm about the discovery, stating that identifying two anticlines with clear drilling targets exceeds initial expectations from the seismic program. The South Bokor structure covers up to 48 square kilometers of closure, while the Central Bokor structure spans approximately 60 square kilometers, representing substantial exploration opportunities for the company.
The company continues to process and interpret data from the completed 24 seismic lines, with additional processing ongoing across the entire survey area. This ongoing analysis will help refine drilling plans and expand the geological interpretation of the region. The identification of multiple viable drill targets significantly enhances the project's prospects for successful energy development in Cambodia's southwestern quadrant.
EnerCam Resources holds an onshore oil and gas license covering just over 4270 square kilometers in Block VIII, following the removal of parks and protected areas from the original 7300 square kilometer concession. The company's systematic approach to seismic analysis and target identification demonstrates methodical progress in unlocking Cambodia's energy potential, with both identified structures showing promising geological characteristics for hydrocarbon accumulation.
