APUS Names Dr. Nicholas Wernicki as New Dean for School of Arts, Humanities, and Education

American Public University System (APUS) has announced the appointment of Dr. Nicholas Wernicki as the new Dean of its School of Arts, Humanities, and Education, effective May 22. Dr. Wernicki's extensive background in academic leadership and workforce development positions him as a pivotal figure in advancing the school's mission to prepare students for future challenges.
Dr. Elizabeth Johnson, Provost of APUS, highlighted Dr. Wernicki's unique blend of experience in academic operations and affairs, underscoring his potential to enhance the university's commitment to student success. With a decade of leadership roles at liberal arts colleges, including Santa Fe Community College and Albright College, Dr. Wernicki has demonstrated a profound ability to foster academic excellence and workforce readiness.
Expressing his honor and humility in joining APUS, Dr. Wernicki emphasized his eagerness to contribute to the university's scholarly initiatives and its dedication to student achievement. His appointment follows the interim deanship of Dr. Michelle Newman, Vice Provost of Academic Operations, and adds to the esteemed team of deans at APUS, including leaders from the School of Business, Health Sciences, STEM, and Security and Global Studies.
Dr. Wernicki's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Philosophical and Theological Studies from Drew University, alongside an M.Phil. from the same institution, an M.A. in Liberal Studies from Villanova University, and a B.S. in Marketing from DeSales University. His diverse educational background and professional experience are expected to bring innovative perspectives to the School of Arts, Humanities, and Education, further solidifying APUS's reputation for delivering high-quality, workforce-relevant higher education.
