Architectural Glass and Metal Technician Program Expands Certification Efforts Through Industry Partnership

The Architectural Glass and Metal Technician certification program recently conducted hands-on glazier testing at Frameless Hardware Company's South Gate, California campus, marking the continuation of a strategic partnership that supports professional development in the glazing industry. This event follows previous testing at FHC's Irving, Texas facility in January and precedes sponsored testing scheduled for GlassBuild America in Orlando, Florida in November 2025.

AGMT certification represents North America's only third-party personnel credential for glaziers, providing independent assessment of fundamental knowledge, skills, and abilities through comprehensive written and hands-on evaluations. The program requires recertification every four years, ensuring maintained competency across the profession. FHC's support extended beyond venue provision, with the company covering 50 percent of testing costs for candidates, significantly reducing financial barriers to certification.

FHC Chief of Marketing Andrew Haring emphasized the company's commitment to the program's mission, stating that AGMT elevates the glazing trade by increasing quality standards and creating industry-wide benchmarks. The testing event was specifically coordinated to increase program exposure and accessibility in Southern California, reflecting growing regional demand for certified glazing professionals.

Program growth metrics substantiate the industry's increasing adoption of certification standards, with 2,149 glaziers having earned certification to date across 41 states and four Canadian provinces. The program has experienced 12 percent growth in the first half of 2025 alone, with 242 glaziers achieving certification during this period. Recent testing candidates represented several prominent glazing firms including Double Play Glass Co., Glazing Concepts Inc., Hale Glass, and Pacific Coast Glazing, with nine individuals earning certification during the California event.

AGMT Field Operations Manager Jason Simonette acknowledged FHC's ongoing commitment, noting that beyond financial contributions, the company's vocal advocacy for certification value significantly benefits both the program and certification candidates.
