Augment Me Launches AI Coaching App to Combat Workplace and Academic Disengagement
Augment Me's new WotNow?! AI agent uses biometric sensing to help users maintain focus and align tasks with peak performance times, addressing what the company calls 'the hidden productivity killer' of disengagement.

Augment Me has introduced WotNow?!, a mobile AI agent that provides real-time prompts to help students and professionals regain focus, structure their day around peak energy windows, and support mental well-being. The app is available on iPhone and Android, with the company also offering an API for enterprise integration.
The technology assesses user engagement and concentration by reading subtle biometric signals through a phone's camera using privacy-first remote photoplethysmography (rPPG). When the system detects attention dips, it responds with actionable nudges designed to restore focus and flow. Over time, the agent maps each person's Peak Performance Times, enabling users to align demanding tasks with their natural biological rhythms.
Founder and CEO Sameer Yami positions the product as a counterweight to both disengagement and the misuse of artificial intelligence. Disengagement represents the hidden productivity killer, according to Yami, who argues that matching cognitive state to specific tasks represents a superior approach to learning, teaching, and working—an approach now made practical through AI implementation.
Yami acknowledges that AI is frequently deployed in ways that harm cognitive performance and productivity, particularly when used to outsource critical thinking tasks. He emphasizes the importance of rethinking the current paradigm and reorienting AI toward human-centric applications. While AI can amplify human capabilities in certain contexts, it can also help users focus more effectively and adapt thoughtfully, ultimately enhancing work and learning efficiency.
The company's methods underwent validation through pilot programs in educational and corporate environments, including a two-year study that incorporated underserved Title I schools. Augment Me reports that their system significantly boosted focus, reduced stress levels, and elevated standardized test scores, exceeding national growth benchmarks by 100–400+ points in several cases. The startup's selection among the Top 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt Battlefield underscores its potential to transform human-AI interaction dynamics.
Beyond individual coaching applications, Augment Me is developing room-level attention sensing capabilities. This technology will enable reading engagement patterns across classrooms or conference rooms, providing presenters with real-time feedback on audience retention and strategies to re-engage distracted participants. The release of WotNow?! marks a significant milestone in the company's mission to redefine how humans and artificial intelligence collaborate effectively.
