AutoNation Launches Free Car Care Clinics in South Florida to Promote Young Driver Safety

AutoNation, Inc. is taking a proactive step towards ensuring the safety of young drivers in South Florida by hosting free AutoNation Car Care Clinics. This initiative comes in response to a revealing survey that highlights a concerning trend among young drivers: ignoring vehicle warning indicators and delaying essential maintenance. The survey, conducted by Atomik Research, found that 42% of parents reported their 15- to 22-year-olds ignored dashboard warnings for a week or more, with 10% admitting these warnings were overlooked for three or more months.

The clinics aim to equip young drivers with the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain their vehicles properly, thereby enhancing road safety. Topics covered include checking tire pressure, understanding dashboard warning lights, jumpstarting a battery, and what to do in case of an emergency. These hands-on sessions are designed to instill confidence in young drivers and alleviate parents' concerns about their children's vehicle safety.

Further findings from the survey underscore the urgency of such educational initiatives. 14% of parents admitted it had been over six months since their young driver's vehicle had a full safety inspection, and 22% were unaware of the last time such an inspection took place. Nearly half of the respondents expressed worries about critical vehicle components like brakes and tires.

AutoNation's Car Care Clinics not only focus on vehicle maintenance but also incorporate driver safety education. Local community partners will lead discussions on distracted and impaired driving, proper driving positioning, and seatbelt usage. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts, ask questions, and receive a mini car care kit to support their safety journey.

Registration is required for the clinics, and parents or guardians must accompany their teens or young adults. For more details and to register, visit https://tinyurl.com/y767hpue. The survey, which involved 1,004 U.S. parents of driving-age children, was conducted between June 6 and June 9, 2025, with a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. AutoNation's commitment to young driver safety through these clinics reflects its broader mission to provide exceptional customer experiences and make a positive impact in the communities it serves.
