Blo Blow Dry Bar Expands to Rhode Island with East Greenwich Location
Blo Blow Dry Bar's first Rhode Island location in East Greenwich represents both a strategic franchise expansion and a response to growing demand for time-saving beauty services in suburban markets.

Blo Blow Dry Bar, North America's original blow dry bar franchise, has opened its first Rhode Island location in East Greenwich, marking a significant expansion for the beauty services chain. The new bar, which opened on October 3 with a grand opening celebration scheduled for October 16, represents the brand's continued growth strategy and addresses what owner Maria M. Porreca identified as an underserved market for professional blow dry services in her home state.
The East Greenwich location at 1000 Division Street, Unit 64 will offer Blo's signature blow outs, à la carte add-ons, hair treatments, and expert makeup services for events and special occasions. Porreca, a Rhode Island native who spent over a decade working in finance in New York City, recognized the need for reliable, time-saving beauty services after returning to Rhode Island to raise her family. Her background in both finance and small business ownership positions her to successfully bring the Blo concept to a new market.
To celebrate the opening, the East Greenwich bar is offering two limited-time promotions: a $75 founder's rate for the first 75 members of its Mane Squeeze Membership program, which includes two blow outs monthly with additional perks, and a special $45 blow out rate (regularly $55) through October 16. These introductory offers demonstrate the company's strategy to build customer loyalty from the outset in new markets.
The expansion into Rhode Island reflects broader trends in the beauty services industry, where time-efficient, specialized services are increasingly in demand among busy professionals and parents. Porreca's personal experience juggling motherhood and a financial executive career informed her decision to bring the Blo concept to East Greenwich. She noted that during her time in Manhattan, she relied heavily on weekly blow outs and makeup appointments, recognizing their value for time-strapped individuals.
Blo Blow Dry Bar's mission focuses on creating inclusive spaces where people of all ages, ethnicities, and orientations feel welcomed and represented. The company emphasizes self-care and wellness through its sophisticated yet energetic environment. Expertly trained stylists are available seven days a week, offering five signature styles from sleek and straight to bouncy curls, plus customized looks including updos and braids. The East Greenwich location will operate Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with extended hours available by appointment from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This scheduling flexibility addresses the needs of guests with busy schedules, a key differentiator in the competitive beauty services market. Porreca plans to open two additional Blo locations in Rhode Island, indicating confidence in the brand's potential throughout the state.
