Blue Lagoon Resources Prepares for Gold Production at Dome Mountain with Key Operational Milestones
Blue Lagoon Resources advances toward gold production at its Dome Mountain project with imminent commissioning of critical water treatment technology and strategic hiring of experienced mining professionals.

Blue Lagoon Resources Inc. is nearing final commissioning of its Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor water treatment system at the Dome Mountain Gold Project, marking the final step required before commencing blasting operations. The company expects the MBBR system to be fully activated within the next 7 to 10 days, enabling immediate commencement of drilling and blasting activities at both the rollover and incline development areas.
Underground preparation work has already begun this week, including establishing emergency egress exit points, testing approximately 10% of bolting as per the Ground Control Management Plan, re-establishing the ventilation system, and clearing underground magazine storage units. The company is also moving small waste piles to improve operational efficiency and cleaning the underground sump in preparation for production activities.
President & CEO Rana Vig stated that the company is extremely close to beginning mining operations, with the MBBR commissioning representing the last remaining step before blasting can commence. The company expects to transition quickly into production and achieve near-term cash flow once the system becomes operational, as detailed in their official release on NewMediaWire.
To strengthen operational readiness, Blue Lagoon has added two key professionals to its team. Michael Kendall joins as Underground Mine Supervisor, bringing more than three decades of hands-on underground mining experience from notable Canadian operations including Eskay Creek, Rice Lake, and Red Chris. His expertise in mine planning, development, and production management will be instrumental as the project transitions into steady-state production.
The company has also appointed Dr. Francis Salifu as Environmental Manager, a seasoned professional with over 15 years of mining-sector environmental management experience. Dr. Salifu holds a PhD in Environmental Science and brings expertise in ML/ARD mitigation, water quality modeling, and biochemical reactor systems, having previously worked with Conuma Resources, PwC, and the Alberta Energy Regulator.
These strategic hires underscore Blue Lagoon's commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and efficient execution as the company prepares for mining operations and near-term cash flow generation. The Dome Mountain Gold Project represents one of only nine full mining permits issued in British Columbia since 2015, positioning the company to become a cash-flowing mining operation targeting Q3 2025 as the start of gold production.
