Boerne’s 5th Annual Bock Walk Highlights Craft Beer Culture and Community Impact
Boerne, Texas, celebrates American Craft Beer Week with its 5th Annual Bock Walk, showcasing six local breweries and supporting a veteran-run nonprofit.

Boerne, Texas, is gearing up to celebrate American Craft Beer Week, May 11-17, with a series of events culminating in the 5th Annual Bock Walk on May 16-17. The event underscores the city’s growing reputation as a destination for craft beer enthusiasts, featuring six independent breweries that each contribute to a vibrant local culture.
The participating breweries include 28 Songs Brewhouse + Kitchen, Hamby’s, Tusculum Brewing Co., Cibolo Creek Brewing Co., Free Roam Brewing Co., and The Dodging Duck Brewhaus. During the Bock Walk, each brewery will craft its own signature Maibock, a traditional German-style lager known for its smooth malt character, offering visitors a unique taste of spring.
According to Tori Bellos of Visit Boerne, the breweries are integral to the community and visitor experience. “Each brewery brings its own personality and passion to Boerne. Together, they create a welcoming destination that both visitors and locals are proud to be part of,” Bellos said. This collaborative spirit is a key reason why Boerne’s craft beer scene has become a draw for tourists.
Attendees can commemorate the event with a limited-edition t-shirt featuring all six breweries, available for pre-order online. A portion of proceeds from each shirt sold will benefit Paidion Shield, a veteran-run nonprofit dedicated to child safety training and preparedness. This partnership highlights how local breweries are not just about craft beer but also about giving back to the community.
The Bock Walk takes place in Boerne’s historic Hill Country Mile, a vibrant downtown area filled with shops, restaurants, and galleries. Visit Boerne offers ready-made itineraries and accommodation suggestions to help visitors plan a long weekend. The event not only celebrates craft beer but also drives tourism, benefiting local businesses and reinforcing Boerne’s identity as a welcoming destination.
As American Craft Beer Week highlights the growth of independent breweries nationwide, Boerne’s Bock Walk exemplifies how small towns can leverage local culture to boost economic activity and community engagement. The event’s support for Paidion Shield adds a layer of social responsibility, showing that craft beer can be a force for good. With six breweries participating and a strong turnout expected, the 5th Annual Bock Walk is poised to be a highlight of the spring season in the Texas Hill Country.
