Boerne's Dickens on Main Marks 25th Anniversary with Expanded Holiday Festival Season
Boerne, Texas celebrates the 25th anniversary of its Dickens on Main festival, kicking off a three-weekend holiday event series that transforms the Hill Country Mile into a Victorian Christmas wonderland while driving tourism and community engagement.

The 25th annual Dickens on Main holiday event will transform Boerne's Hill Country Mile into a vintage snowy Christmas wonderland during Thanksgiving weekend, November 28 and 29. This milestone celebration marks a quarter-century of holiday tradition in the Texas Hill Country community, bringing together residents and visitors for a festive experience that combines Victorian-era charm with modern entertainment.
The festival features live music and carolers throughout the venue, an exciting ice carving show set to music, and roving street performers on Main Street. Unique attractions include the "Birds of Prey" live show by Last Chance Forever and countless photo opportunities throughout the decorated streets. Shops and restaurants open as early as 10 a.m., with tasty food and drinks available at local establishments and through food vendors spread throughout the event.
The holiday celebration extends beyond the initial weekend with additional events scheduled throughout December. The following weekend, December 5 and 6, features the annual Weihnachts Parade on Saturday, where more than 100 lighted floats make their way down Main Street while shops stay open late. Friday's Wassail Walk and Caroling Contest adds to the festive atmosphere. The celebration continues December 12-14 with KinderFest and the Cowboy Christmas Market in Main Plaza, offering a more relaxed holiday vibe for families.
Streets close each night at 4 p.m. for the events, with parking available on adjacent streets and lots on a first-come, first-served basis. The official tree lighting ceremony takes place at Main Plaza on Friday night at 6 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and wear comfortable shoes for the best experience.
