Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Raises Over $700,000 at Annual Gala to Support Youth Programs

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade successfully raised more than $700,000 during its 17th Annual "Wild About Kids" Gala, themed "GALAxia Night," held at the Loews Coral Gables Hotel on October 18. This substantial fundraising achievement represents critical financial support for the organization's mission to empower Miami-Dade youth through comprehensive programming that includes academic support, STEM education, arts, sports, and character development.

The event attracted over 300 prominent supporters from South Florida's philanthropic, business, and community leadership circles who gathered for a black-tie celebration featuring a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, and live entertainment. WSVN's Belkys Nerey and Lynn Martinez served as emcees for the evening, while attendees enjoyed performances by Latin soul artist Lucy Grau and a showcase by Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Dance Stars, demonstrating the artistic talents cultivated through the organization's programs.

Alex Rodriguez-Roig, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, expressed gratitude for the community support, stating that the funds raised "help fuel the programs that open doors for thousands of kids each year." The financial impact of this event is particularly significant as it directly supports one-on-one mentoring, tutoring, and various educational initiatives that help children develop into productive, caring citizens.

Gala Chair Michelle Zubizarreta emphasized the broader significance of the event, noting that "GALAxia Night was not only a celebration of our community's generosity but also of the dreams and determination of the children we serve." The evening included opportunities for additional support through youth member sponsorships and a curated silent auction featuring VIP experiences, exclusive travel packages, and fine jewelry.

The event's success was supported by numerous corporate and individual sponsors, including the Carmen Rebozo Foundation as Supernova Presenting Sponsor and The Ansin Foundation/WSVN as Mission Control Sponsor. Additional major supporters included DRRT, OceanBank, Thoma Bravo, and numerous other community partners. For more information about the organization's ongoing work, visit https://www.bgcmia.org.

This level of community investment in youth development programming demonstrates the ongoing commitment to addressing educational and developmental needs in Miami-Dade County. The funds raised will enable the continuation and expansion of critical services that provide children with the resources and support necessary to achieve their full potential, reinforcing the organization's longstanding role in the community since 1946.
