Brazil's 404 Innovation Studio Marks Second Year with Industry Recognition and New Operating System
404 Innovation Studio's two-year anniversary highlights its success in redefining the agency model through design-first innovation, earning top creative awards and developing transformative solutions for major brands.

404 Innovation Studio is celebrating its second anniversary, continuing its mission to challenge the traditional agency model and create narratives, products, and experiences that people wish existed. Founded in 2023, the Brazil-based studio operates with a unique structure that replaces rigid departments with just two teams: Operations, which manages client relationships and work experience, and Product, which integrates creative and technical disciplines from copywriting and design to coding, CX, and content creation.
The studio's innovative approach has already garnered significant industry recognition. In just two years, 404 has been named the second most creative independent Brazilian company at Cannes Lions 2024 and was recognized as the most creative Brazilian company overall by Clio Entertainment. These accolades demonstrate the effectiveness of their design-first philosophy in solving complex branding and marketing challenges.
One of the studio's notable achievements includes the launch of NOS, an operating system developed in partnership with Natura and Galeria.Ag to accelerate change at one of the world's most admired brands. This collaboration exemplifies how 404's technology-driven approach creates transformative solutions for major corporations seeking innovation.
The studio's name draws inspiration from the "404: page not found" error, which co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Rafael Caldeira describes as a starting point for experimentation, collaboration, and innovation rather than a dead end. "We believe that innovation inevitably brings unpredictable challenges, and to turn these innovations into competitive advantages, errors must be embraced as part of the process," Caldeira explained. This philosophy positions creative leadership as primarily responsible for creating environments that foster experimentation where people feel safe to take risks and develop new ideas.
As part of Galeria Holding, one of the largest independent networks of creative companies in Latin America, 404 Innovation Studio's success signals a broader shift in the advertising and media industry. Their approach demonstrates that change is not optional but rather a design problem that requires rethinking traditional structures and embracing experimentation as a core business strategy.
