BYU-Idaho Alumni Launch Nonprofit to Connect African Talent with Global Businesses

Two Brigham Young University-Idaho alumni have created Afrisource, a nonprofit platform designed to transform global outsourcing by connecting businesses with top-tier African talent while simultaneously promoting economic mobility.

Co-founders Mac Agbonavbare and Marcelo Wilen, both international students with backgrounds in technology and nonprofits, developed Afrisource to address talent sourcing challenges and provide meaningful economic opportunities for professionals across Africa.

The platform offers a unique approach to outsourcing by providing fully vetted professionals in areas such as operations, marketing, customer support, and business administration. Unlike traditional outsourcing models, Afrisource focuses on a human-first approach that emphasizes quality, trust, and mutual growth.

Key differentiators include comprehensive background checks, fully managed services including hiring and payroll, and a commitment to reinvesting resources back into professionals and their communities. By connecting global companies with talented African professionals, Afrisource aims to bridge significant gaps in the global talent economy.

For businesses struggling with traditional outsourcing methods, Afrisource presents an alternative that combines cost-effectiveness with social impact. The platform enables companies to access high-performing talent while supporting economic development in Africa.

With backgrounds at prominent tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and LinkedIn, the founders bring significant expertise to their mission of creating opportunities for overlooked professionals. Their personal experiences as international students and entrepreneurs drive Afrisource's innovative approach to global workforce development.
