CAHEC Honors Leaders in Affordable Housing and Community Development

The 2025 CAHEC Awards celebrated outstanding contributions to affordable housing and community development, recognizing projects and individuals that exemplify innovation, dedication, and community impact. Among the honorees, Davis Park Station was awarded Development of the Year for its 73 affordable housing units and integrated Workforce Training Center, a result of a pioneering public-private partnership with the City of Lexington.

Reacy Lockhart received the CAHEC Values Award for his 16 years of service as Maintenance Lead Technician for the Columbus Housing Authority, overseeing maintenance at two CAHEC-managed communities and enhancing resident living conditions.

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky was recognized with the Outstanding Community Impact Award for its West Louisville Opportunity Center, a comprehensive social services center that has improved healthcare access and community well-being in a historically underserved area.

Kellie Freeman, a resident of Cornelia Gardens, was spotlighted for her transformation and active community involvement, illustrating the profound personal impact of stable, affordable housing.

These awards underscore the importance of collaborative efforts and innovative approaches in addressing housing affordability and community development challenges, setting benchmarks for future initiatives.
