Chef Nourish Launches Special-Diet Meal Support for Garden Grove Evacuees

As Garden Grove and surrounding Orange County communities continue to recover from a recent chemical incident that prompted evacuations, Chef Nourish has launched a targeted meal support program for residents with special dietary requirements that standard emergency food cannot meet.

The company, founded by Chef LaLa, is offering Garden Grove Prepared Meal Support, providing ready-to-heat, chef-prepared meals to affected individuals, families, seniors, and emergency responders. The initiative waives delivery fees for households impacted by the evacuation or temporary displacement.

“Emergency food is not one-size-fits-all,” said Chef LaLa. “So many people are helping right now, and we are incredibly grateful for the Red Cross, Orange County agencies, first responders, hotels, volunteers, and community partners who are showing up. I wanted Chef Nourish to support a very specific gap: people who need to eat carefully, even during an emergency.”

The program covers 15 special-diet categories, including diabetic-conscious, gluten-free, dairy-free, low-sodium, senior-friendly, high-protein, anti-inflammatory, and culturally diverse meals. Chef LaLa emphasized that displacement does not pause chronic health conditions or dietary restrictions. “Being away from home does not pause diabetes, heart disease, kidney concerns, food allergies, celiac disease, autoimmune issues, pregnancy nutrition, sensory food needs, athletic training, cultural food traditions, religious food practices, or the way a family has learned to eat to stay healthy,” she said.

Chef Nourish, a woman-owned, veteran-owned, minority-owned small business, serves thousands of meals weekly across Los Angeles and Orange County. The company’s meals are nutritionist-guided and designed for real-life scenarios such as hotel stays, temporary housing, and caregiver support. The program is available to households in Garden Grove, Orange County, Los Angeles County, and surrounding Southern California communities.

“Our goal is simple,” Chef LaLa said. “We want affected families to know they have an option. If you are displaced, staying in a hotel, caring for a senior parent, supporting a child with special needs, managing a health condition, or trying to stay healthy through a stressful moment, Chef Nourish is here to help.”

Residents are encouraged to continue following official evacuation orders from the City of Garden Grove, Orange County, Orange County Fire Authority, and the American Red Cross. Affected households can call (323) 909-8933 and mention “Garden Grove Prepared Meal Support” to coordinate delivery.
