Colorado Rural Health Center Honors Top Performers in Rural Healthcare

The Colorado Rural Health Center (CRHC) has announced its inaugural Top 10 Rural Healthcare Facility for Overall Performance awards, recognizing five hospitals and five clinics that demonstrate exceptional commitment to community health and innovative healthcare practices.

CRHC's data team evaluated clinic performance based on participation in quality improvement activities, innovation, and community health dedication. Hospital awards were determined by the Chartis Group, a leading rural healthcare analytics firm.

The awarded facilities represent diverse regions across Colorado, including rural communities in Del Norte, Trinidad, Aspen, Fort Morgan, Meeker, Holyoke, Battlement Mesa, Naturita, Walsenburg, and Walsh. These healthcare providers play a crucial role in maintaining medical services in areas often underserved by larger healthcare systems.

CRHC CEO Michelle Mills emphasized the importance of local healthcare facilities, describing them as the "lifeblood of rural healthcare delivery systems." The awards program aims to highlight and encourage continued excellence in rural healthcare service.

Hospital awardees include Rio Grande Hospital, Mt. San Rafael Hospital, Aspen Valley Hospital, East Morgan County Hospital, and Pioneers Medical Center. Clinic recipients are Family Practice of Holyoke, Grand River Health, Basin Clinic, Spanish Peaks Family Health, and Walsh Medical Center.

The awards were presented during the first annual Colorado Rural Healthcare Conference, marking a significant milestone in recognizing and supporting rural healthcare providers. By acknowledging these facilities, CRHC aims to draw attention to the critical healthcare challenges and achievements in rural communities.
