Colorado Rural Health Center Honors Top Performers in Rural Healthcare Facilities
The Colorado Rural Health Center recognized 10 rural hospitals and clinics for exceptional performance, highlighting the critical role of healthcare facilities in supporting rural communities' health and well-being.

The Colorado Rural Health Center (CRHC) has announced its inaugural 'Top 10 Rural Healthcare Facility for Overall Performance' awards, recognizing five hospitals and five clinics for their outstanding commitment to community health.
CRHC's data team evaluated facilities based on participation in quality improvement activities, innovation, and dedication to local community health. Hospital awards were determined with assistance from the Chartis Group, a leading rural healthcare analytics provider.
The selected hospitals include Rio Grande Hospital in Del Norte, Mt. San Rafael Hospital in Trinidad, Aspen Valley Hospital, East Morgan County Hospital, and Pioneers Medical Center. Clinics honored were Family Practice of Holyoke, Grand River Health, Basin Clinic, Spanish Peaks Family Health, and Walsh Medical Center.
CRHC CEO Michelle Mills emphasized the importance of local healthcare facilities, stating they are the 'lifeblood of rural healthcare delivery systems' and play a crucial role in maintaining community health and wellness.
This recognition underscores the significant challenges and remarkable achievements of rural healthcare providers, who often operate with limited resources while serving geographically dispersed and sometimes underserved populations. The awards highlight the critical role these facilities play in maintaining healthcare access and quality in rural Colorado.
