Comcast Expands High-Speed Internet to Over 4,000 Homes and Businesses in Kansas

Comcast has successfully expanded its next-generation network to Paola and Hillsdale, Kansas, connecting more than 4,000 homes and businesses to reliable, high-speed, symmetrical Internet. This development is set to enhance digital infrastructure, promote economic growth, and support residents and local businesses in thriving in a digital-centric world. The expansion introduces a range of services from Xfinity and Comcast Business, marking a significant milestone for the region.

Janet McRae, Economic Development Director for Miami County, highlighted the importance of this expansion, noting the coordination required with various utilities providers and commending Comcast's dedication to safety. The project, celebrated with a ribbon-cutting event at Paola's Town Square, also saw Comcast donating $2,500 to My Father's House, a local nonprofit.

Randi Shannon, City Manager of Paola, and April Damron, Executive Director of the Paola Chamber of Commerce, both emphasized the critical role of high-speed Internet in fostering economic growth, improving access to education and healthcare, and enhancing the quality of life for the community. Comcast's investment in the area is part of a broader commitment to bridging the digital divide and supporting economic mobility through programs like Internet Essentials, which offers eligible households affordable Internet and computers.

Comcast's network is designed to deliver multi-gigabit Internet speeds with 99.9 percent reliability, catering to the needs of modern consumers and businesses. Residents and businesses in Paola and Hillsdale can now access a full suite of Xfinity and Comcast Business services, including Internet, video, mobile, voice, and home security, ensuring they are well-equipped for the demands of today's digital landscape.
