Comfort Area Foundation Initiates Flood Relief Fund for Texas Hill Country

The Comfort Area Foundation (CAF) has launched the Comfort Flood Relief Fund in response to the devastating floods that hit the Texas Hill Country on July 4th, 2025. The floods have caused significant damage, particularly in Center Point, TX, destroying the local fire station and leaving many families displaced. CAF's initiative aims to provide immediate and long-term support to the affected communities in Kendall and Kerr Counties, with all donations going directly to vetted local nonprofits.

Chris Havens, Board President of CAF, highlighted the importance of community in the recovery process, stating, "In small towns like ours, recovery isn't handled by agencies—it’s neighbors helping neighbors." The foundation's efforts are part of its broader mission to enhance the resilience and quality of life in the Hill Country, a commitment underscored by the recent floods. The flooding incident has brought to light the critical need for emergency preparedness and community-led initiatives, such as the Vision 2050 planning initiative, which included the installation of an early warning siren system in Comfort. CAF's longstanding dedication to the region's well-being is now more vital than ever as the community begins the challenging process of rebuilding and healing.
