Critical Infrastructure Technologies and Babcock International Partner to Supply Advanced Communications Platform to Ukrainian Armed Forces

Critical Infrastructure Technologies Ltd. and Babcock International Group have executed a Memorandum of Understanding to co-develop and build rapidly deployable platforms integrating 5G communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, and counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems capabilities for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The agreement, signed at the DSEI expo in London, commits both companies to work exclusively on the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence request to supply 50 of CiTech's Nexus 20 platforms.

The solution will be delivered in a 20-foot containerized format transportable by truck, representing a new standard in rapid deployment technology. Once deployed, the system will provide 5G communications, counter-UAS, and ISR capability while featuring the ability to self-unload and adapt to sloping or uneven terrain. The platform will deploy a 20m cyclone-rated tower to support mission-critical operations, addressing critical infrastructure needs in challenging environments.

Mark Goldsack, Babcock's International Director, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership, stating the companies can deliver rapidly deployable communications and surveillance capabilities while expanding their Eastern Europe footprint with a dedicated assembly hub. The MOU includes plans to explore the development of a Nexus 20 assembly hub in Eastern Europe and further opportunities across NATO's Eastern Flank, positioning the technology for broader regional deployment.

Brenton Scott, CEO of CiTech, highlighted that partnering with Babcock International unlocks a pathway for the Nexus 20 to be rapidly scaled across Ukraine and Eastern Europe. This partnership represents more than a single deployment—it marks the beginning of a regional expansion that positions CiTech's Nexus 20 as a benchmark capability across NATO's Eastern Flank, enhancing defense and security infrastructure throughout the region.

The collaboration between these defense technology providers comes at a critical time for European security, with the Ukrainian conflict highlighting the need for advanced, rapidly deployable communications and surveillance systems. The containerized format allows for quick transportation and setup, making it ideal for emergency response and military operations where traditional infrastructure may be compromised or unavailable.
