CUDDLY Launches East Coast Rescue Rover to Save Animals from Overcrowded Shelters

CUDDLY®, a company dedicated to supporting animal welfare organizations, has introduced its East Coast Rescue Rover in collaboration with New York City Second Chance Rescue (NYCSCR). This initiative is designed to transport vulnerable animals from overcrowded shelters to facilities with more resources, significantly reducing the risk of euthanasia for these animals. The Rescue Rover, funded by CUDDLY's subscription program, CUDDLY Club, will operate in NYC, focusing on shelters in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn, and relocating animals to NYCSCR's new center in Long Island City.

The launch of the East Coast Rescue Rover comes at a critical time, as NYC shelters face increased intake due to various factors, including summer heat and hurricane season. The vehicle's debut on September 6th will be marked by a celebration for dogs rescued from local shelters, highlighting the program's immediate impact. Amy Peterson, Director of Event Marketing at CUDDLY, emphasized the initiative's role in providing animals with a chance to find forever homes, while Jennifer Brooks, President and Founder of NYCSCR, noted the alignment with their mission to save over 16,000 animals since 2009.

This is not CUDDLY's first venture into animal rescue transport; the company previously launched a Rescue Rover in Austin, TX, in partnership with Austin Pets Alive!. The expansion to NYC and plans for a third van later this year underscore CUDDLY's commitment to addressing shelter overcrowding nationwide. Supporters can contribute to this cause by joining the CUDDLY Club or purchasing CUDDLY's pet products, which donate a meal to a shelter animal with every purchase, benefiting over 4,500 partner organizations.

The collaboration between CUDDLY and NYCSCR represents a significant step forward in animal welfare, offering a practical solution to shelter overcrowding and the euthanasia of at-risk animals. By leveraging community support and innovative fundraising, the Rescue Rover initiative promises to make a lasting difference in the lives of countless animals awaiting their second chance.
