D1 Training Expands Athletic Fitness Concept to Clermont with New Franchise Location
D1 Training's expansion into Clermont addresses a gap in youth athletic development programs while providing sports-science backed training for all ages through its franchise model.

D1 Training has opened a new location in Clermont at 2631 S. HWY 27, Suite 101, bringing its athletic-based fitness concept to the metro Orlando area. The facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers designed to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals. This expansion represents the brand's strategic growth through franchising while addressing what franchise owners identify as a gap in youth fitness programming.
The new Clermont location is operated by husband-and-wife team London Dewey and Ron Zmuda, who join a roster of existing franchisees that includes professional athletes. London, a former high school athlete and University of Florida graduate, transitioned from chemical engineering to entrepreneurship inspired by her family's business background. Ron, also a UF graduate with additional education from University of Central Florida, brings experience as a small business attorney. As parents of two young children, they emphasized D1 Training's appeal in creating family fitness opportunities.
"We've always wanted to build something that reflects our passion for fitness and D1 Training helps fill a hole that exists here, when it comes to fitness concepts for kids," said London. The facility offers four age-based programs: Rookie for ages 7-11, Developmental for ages 12-14, Prep for ages 15-18, and D1 Adult. Each program follows the brand's five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down.
Beyond group workouts, D1 Training provides team, semi-private, and one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The concept aims to train athletes dedicated to their sport or fitness goals regardless of age or athletic background. Dan Murphy, the brand's Chief Operating Officer, expressed confidence in the new franchise owners' ability to demonstrate the D1 Training experience to the Clermont community.
The expansion occurs as D1 Training continues nationwide growth through franchising, with more than 135 performance centers open and over 150 additional locations in development. The brand seeks financially qualified business builders, former athletes, and entrepreneurs who share a passion for fitness and youth sports.
