DigitalBridge-Backed Vantage Data Centers Announces $25 Billion Texas Hyperscale Campus to Power AI Growth
Vantage Data Centers, backed by DigitalBridge, is launching a massive $25 billion, 1.4GW hyperscale data center campus in Texas to address the power and scale demands of the AI era while creating significant economic impact.

DigitalBridge Group's portfolio company Vantage Data Centers has unveiled plans for Frontier, a $25 billion hyperscale data center campus in Shackelford County, Texas, marking the company's largest project to date. The 1.4GW campus will serve as a critical infrastructure component for the rapidly expanding Texas AI hub, supporting global hyperscale customers with advanced computing capabilities.
The Frontier development represents a strategic response to the growing power and scale requirements of artificial intelligence workloads. According to Jon Mauck, Senior Managing Director and Head of Data Centers at DigitalBridge, "Frontier represents an important milestone for Vantage Data Centers and for the broader digital infrastructure ecosystem. As investors, we are proud to support Vantage in expanding its platform with a project of this scale, which not only enables the growth of AI but also creates meaningful local impact through jobs and community investment."
The massive campus will comprise 10 data centers totaling 3.7 million square feet, specifically engineered to handle ultra-high-density GPU workloads through advanced liquid cooling systems. The project aligns with Vantage's sustainable design approach, incorporating resource-efficient technologies and pursuing LEED certification to minimize environmental impact while maximizing operational efficiency.
DigitalBridge CEO Marc Ganzi emphasized the strategic importance of the investment, stating, "At DigitalBridge, we see power and scale as the defining challenges of the AI era. Vantage's Frontier campus is a direct response to those needs and reflects the playbook we've built over the last three decades of investing in data centers and digital infrastructure: backing market leaders, enabling them to scale, and delivering long-term value for customers and communities."
The $25 billion investment underscores DigitalBridge's broader strategy of building and scaling global platforms across hyperscale computing, AI infrastructure, private cloud services, edge data centers, fiber networks, tower infrastructure, and digital power solutions. This massive infrastructure project not only addresses the immediate computational demands of AI development but also positions Texas as a central hub for next-generation digital infrastructure, potentially attracting additional technology investments and talent to the region.
The Frontier campus development reflects the increasing convergence of digital infrastructure investment with artificial intelligence growth requirements, highlighting how traditional data center operators are adapting their strategies to meet the extraordinary computational and power demands of modern AI workloads while maintaining sustainability commitments.
