Door Services Corporation Expands Safety Offerings with New Horton Automatic Door Systems

Door Services Corporation, a member of the Horton Automatics family and a North American provider of commercial automatic door solutions, has announced the expansion of its Horton product offerings with two new systems: the upgraded Horton HD Storm™ sliding door system and the Horton Behavioral Health Profiler® ICU, the first purpose-built sliding door system for behavioral health environments.

The enhanced Horton HD Storm™ is designed for high-wind environments, delivering performance ratings of up to ±85 PSF (pounds per square foot). It has been tested to Miami-Dade standards and carries the North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS) Limited Water (LW) designation. The system is available in single slide and bi-parting full breakout configurations, with panel weight support up to 300 lbs. per sliding panel in bi-parting setups. A concealed belt drive with a 1/4 HP DC motor powers the system, and an XL version accommodates extended height openings. This upgrade expands on a previously trusted product line, now offering larger openings through expanded HDXL size options. Door Services Corporation offers the HD Storm™ through its hurricane-rated sliding door solutions, with full installation and service capabilities. More details on automatic door applications can be found on the company's website.

The Horton Behavioral Health Profiler® ICU is engineered to meet the safety, access control, and durability demands of modern behavioral health facilities. It addresses five critical needs: preventing patient self-harm, preventing staff harm, preventing patients from barricading within a suite, preventing the weaponization of door components, and preventing entanglement of IV lines. Key features include an anti-ligature design with no pinch points or exposed fasteners, anti-barricade functionality with emergency override, tamper-proof safety glass vision panels with optional controlled blinds, and a mechanical self-closing operation with optional quiet, low-force mechanisms. The system meets UL 1784, UL 325, ADA, FGI Guidelines, and Joint Commission standards, and offers a non-institutional design with smooth, flush finishes. It is available in sizes up to 9' wide x 8' high and is suited for inpatient psychiatric hospitals, rehabilitation centers, emergency room behavioral health suites, and court-ordered evaluation facilities. Door Services Corporation is positioned to deliver this solution as part of the Horton Automatics family. Learn more about healthcare sliding door solutions and hospital door applications.
