Eco Expo Asia 2025 Showcases Green Technologies Driving Carbon Neutrality Goals
The 20th Eco Expo Asia brings together 340 exhibitors from 13 countries to showcase innovative green technologies in circular economy, smart mobility and ESG services, positioning Hong Kong as a global hub for sustainable solutions.

The 20th Eco Expo Asia opened today at AsiaWorld-Expo, gathering approximately 340 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions for a four-day event focused on advancing green technologies and sustainable solutions. The expo aligns with recent policy directions highlighted in the Policy Address, emphasizing three key technological areas: Circular Economy and Waste Management, Green & Smart Mobility, and ESG-related Services.
HKTDC Executive Director Sophia Chong emphasized the expo's significance in driving innovation and collaboration to support green agendas. "This year, we celebrate a significant milestone of the Expo - its 20th edition. This not only marks our commitment to sustainability but also underscores our ongoing mission to develop the ecosystem for driving innovation and collaboration to support the green agenda," Chong stated during the opening ceremony.
Secretary for Environment and Ecology Tse Chin-wan highlighted Hong Kong's strategic position in the global sustainability landscape. "In the global journey towards sustainability, Hong Kong serves as a 'super connector'. With our unique position as an international city within the Guangdong-Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and a bridge between Chinese Mainland and the world, Hong Kong brings together talent, technology, and capital to foster collaboration and scale up green innovation," Tse explained.
The expo features 17 pavilions, including first-time participants such as the Environmental Campaign Committee showcasing 22 local green start-ups and the ANSO Environmental Technology Industry Alliance presenting technologies related to water resources and atmospheric environment. International representation includes new pavilions from Italy and South Korea, alongside returning participants from Canada, the Netherlands and Norway.
In the Circular Economy and Waste Management sector, Green AI Technology Limited displays its AI-powered smart sorting bin with real-time waste identification, while Dynagreen Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd showcases comprehensive waste treatment projects contributing to sustainable urban development. The Green & Smart Mobility section features innovations like SANY Mobile Charging Power Station from SANY Turbo Fly Machine Limited, capable of charging two electric trucks simultaneously, and CIMC Enric Investment Holding (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.'s hydrogen and green methanol technology solutions for transportation and storage.
ESG-related services are represented by companies including Llewellyn and Partners Company Limited with its AutoTwin AI-powered management platform for the construction industry and XSIM AI Canada Inc. with AI-driven systems that reduce operational costs and carbon emissions by up to 30% in wastewater and industrial facilities. Research institutions play a crucial role, with The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Lingnan University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University Jinjiang Technology and Innovation Research Institute showcasing academic innovations.
The Eco Asia Conference, running concurrently with the expo, features government sessions with officials from Belt and Road countries sharing green policies and projects. Conference themes include "Revolutionising with Circular Economy: From Waste to Innovative Solutions" and "Green & Smart Mobility - Envisioning the Future of Transportation." Industry leaders such as Pak-cheung Chan, Deputy Director of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, and Dr Rick Mo, Head of the Centre of Advanced Power and Autonomous Systems at Hong Kong Productivity Council, will share insights on building sustainable cities.
Additional events include the 6th Hydrogen Economy Forum featuring Diane Wong, JP, Under Secretary for Environment and Ecology, and Dr Wang Ziyuan, Vice President of China Hydrogen Development and Innovation Alliance for Urban Gas, discussing hydrogen energy opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. The expo will open to the public free of charge on October 31, featuring seminars on extreme weather by Hong Kong Observatory's Man Yee Chan and environmental workshops to encourage public participation in sustainability initiatives.
