EMAM Launches Free On-Premise AI Tool in New Media Management Platform Version

EMAM has announced the beta release of its eMAM version 6.0 at IBC 2025, featuring a groundbreaking free on-premise AI tool that enables organizations to automatically enrich untagged videos without manual intervention. The new eMAM Next AI connector leverages open-source LLMs and operates on affordable HP Z2 workstations to provide speech-to-text, summarization, and title generation capabilities, allowing companies to maintain complete control over their media assets within their local infrastructure.

The perpetual free license offered through the end of the year responds directly to growing security and cost concerns among organizations seeking on-premise AI solutions. According to EMAM President David Miller, "Facing security and cost concerns, organizations have been clamoring for fully on-premise AI options. We are so excited to roll out our first version of eMAM Next with a perpetual free license for all of our new customers for the rest of the year." This approach eliminates the need for cloud-based processing while maintaining data security and reducing operational expenses.

Version 6.0 introduces a new "Client" web interface with WCAG 2.1 A and AA compliance, providing authorized non-technical users and external stakeholders simplified access to the eMAM library without requiring additional user licenses. This feature enables organizations to share media with clients and stakeholders more efficiently while controlling access permissions and maintaining security protocols. The interface eliminates the complexity of the feature-rich "Director" interface for basic media sharing needs.

The update includes significant workflow improvements and expanded integration capabilities with over 100 third-party technology partners. New features include integration with Cutting Room for media creation and sharing, enhanced media storage and archive options, tools for incorporating third-party metadata to improve search functionality, and orchestration options that allow third-party tools to streamline processes between eMAM and other platforms. Additional enhancements include improved editing capabilities for raw camera media and expanded options for sharing content on social media and other distribution platforms.

EMAM's platform expansion includes new channel partners to support organizations in local markets worldwide, strengthening the company's global presence while maintaining its commitment to providing tailored media management solutions. The eMAM product line, which includes eMAM Vault, eMAM Publish, eMAM Workgroup, eMAM Enterprise, eMAM Cloud Service, and eMAM Cloud Platform, continues to serve broadcast, media, government, and corporate organizations across local, hybrid, and cloud environments.
