Florida Gateway College Foundation Launches $140,001 Giving Day Auction to Support Student Success

The Foundation for Florida Gateway College has launched its third annual Giving Day Experience Auction with an ambitious goal of raising $140,001 to support student scholarships, campus programs, and institutional initiatives. The week-long fundraising event, running from November 11 to November 18, 2025, provides community members with multiple avenues to contribute to educational advancement at the college.

Rebecca Golden, Director of Resource Development at the Foundation, emphasized the importance of community support in making education accessible. "We believe students should have every opportunity to attend Florida Gateway College regardless of their financial situation," Golden stated. "So we build relationships with YOU, with companies, with anyone who shares the passion for helping Florida Gateway College students."

The fundraising initiative offers three distinct participation methods for supporters. Community members can make direct contributions through the Foundation's official donation portal at https://www.fgc.edu/give, where every dollar directly supports student success programs. Alternatively, participants can engage in the online auction featuring exclusive experiences and packages available at https://fgc.winningbidder.com/event.

This year's auction features an impressive array of items designed to attract diverse interests. Highlights include a military fighter pilot flight experience in a vintage warbird aircraft, luxurious travel vacation packages to both local and international destinations, and an Ultimate Pro Sports Fan Getaway package. The auction also showcases handcrafted goods and other unique offerings that provide bidders with memorable experiences while supporting educational causes.

A significant component of this year's campaign focuses on endowment creation, offering substantial matching opportunities for donors interested in establishing lasting educational legacies. Any general scholarship or vocational scholarship endowment starting at $12,500 will receive dollar-for-dollar matching, instantly transforming into a $25,000 fund. This matching program particularly appeals to donors seeking to honor or memorialize loved ones through meaningful, enduring educational gifts.

The timing and structure of the week-long campaign allow for extended community participation while creating urgency for maximum donor engagement. The $140,001 target represents a specific fundraising goal that, if achieved, will substantially impact the college's ability to provide financial assistance and program support. Previous Giving Day events have demonstrated strong community response, with this year's expanded auction offerings expected to generate increased participation and fundraising results.

Funds raised through donor participation will directly support scholarships, campus improvements, and initiatives that empower students while enriching the broader community. The Foundation's approach combines immediate financial support through direct donations with long-term sustainability through endowment growth, creating a comprehensive funding strategy for student success programs. This dual approach ensures both current student needs are met while building permanent resources for future generations of learners at Florida Gateway College.
