GE Vernova to Create 250 Jobs in Pennsylvania Amid Energy Demand Surge
GE Vernova announces a $100 million investment in Pennsylvania, creating 250 new jobs to manufacture high voltage switchgear, crucial for the nation's electrical grids, and securing a significant order for natural gas turbines.

GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) is set to add 250 new jobs over the next two years at its Charleroi, PA, factory, as part of a broader $100 million investment in Pennsylvania. This expansion aims to meet the surging demand for energy by manufacturing high voltage switchgear, essential for the stable operation of the U.S. electrical grids. The investment is part of GE Vernova's commitment to modernizing the grid, strengthening domestic supply chains, and enhancing national security.
The company also announced a secured order to supply seven high-efficiency 7HA.02 natural gas turbines to the Homer City Energy Campus. This project, transforming a former coal plant into a natural gas-powered data center campus, is expected to generate up to 4.4GW of electricity by 2027, supporting the growing needs of AI and high-performance computing sectors.
Scott Strazik, CEO of GE Vernova, emphasized the importance of these investments in reindustrializing Pennsylvania's manufacturing sector and ensuring the U.S. leads in energy and technology. The initiatives are part of GE Vernova's $9 billion global investment plan through 2028, aimed at electrifying and decarbonizing the world's energy systems.
