Georgia Accounting Professionals Raise $380,000 in Annual Food Fight Campaign, Providing 1.5 Million Meals

The 2025 Georgia Accounting Food Fight campaign concluded with remarkable success, raising $380,071.50—equivalent to nearly 1.5 million meals—for food banks across Georgia. This annual fundraising initiative, now in its 12th year, represents a collaborative effort between Feeding Georgia and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants to address food insecurity affecting one in seven Georgians.

Julie Kuykendall, Executive Director of Feeding Georgia, emphasized the campaign's importance, stating that the funds will help ensure families and neighbors across the state receive nourishing food needed to thrive. The friendly two-week competition among accounting professionals specifically targets restocking food banks after the summer surge caused by the conclusion of school lunch assistance programs.

Collins/Moody & Company earned the Grand Prize Food Fight Hero title by raising $2,100 and achieving the most points per employee statewide, while Nichols, Cauley and Associates won Grand Prize Hunger Champion by raising $61,140.67 with the most statewide points overall. Boyd Search, CEO of The Georgia Society of CPAs, celebrated the campaign's record-breaking impact, noting that CPAs across Georgia have collectively contributed nearly $2.9 million since the initiative launched in 2014. This represents 11,706,538 meals distributed through the state's food bank network. The fundraising efforts directly support Feeding Georgia's mission to provide nutritious meals and work toward creating a hunger-free Georgia.

The campaign's structure ensures that all funds raised by each accounting team remain local, benefiting the food bank that serves their specific community. This localized approach maximizes the impact on regional hunger needs while fostering community engagement among accounting professionals. The success of this year's event underscores the accounting profession's ongoing commitment to addressing critical social issues through organized, targeted philanthropic efforts.
