Georgia's Own Credit Union Makes Historic Investment in UGA Women's Athletics
Georgia's Own Credit Union expands its partnership with University of Georgia athletics, marking the first corporate on-field logo at any UGA facility while significantly increasing investment in women's sports programs.

Georgia's Own Credit Union, Georgia's third-largest credit union, has announced a major expansion of its partnership with University of Georgia athletics, with a particular focus on women's sports programs. The centerpiece of the new agreement includes painting the Georgia's Own Credit Union logo on the softball field at Jack Turner Softball Stadium, representing the first time a corporate partner has secured on-field logo placement at any UGA facility.
Dave Preter, president and CEO of Georgia's Own Credit Union, emphasized the growing importance of women's athletics, stating that women's sports are driving fan interest nationwide at unprecedented levels. The credit union recognizes that professional leagues rely on stars developed at the collegiate level, making this investment in one of the nation's premier women's college athletics programs particularly significant.
The new agreement also establishes Georgia's Own as the presenting sponsor of the 2026 UGA softball team. Head Coach Tony Baldwin, entering his fifth year with the program, noted that the team drew a record 56,921 fans to Jack Turner Softball Stadium in 2025 and came within one win of reaching its sixth Women's College World Series appearance. Coach Baldwin described the investment as tremendous for the program, highlighting how it validates the hard work and excellence of student-athletes while providing life-changing opportunities through a program-wide NIL deal.
Beyond softball, Georgia's Own will maintain its presence at football and men's basketball games while increasing visibility at gymnastics meets and women's basketball games. The expanded partnership includes additional appearances on digital signage boards at Stegeman Coliseum, building on a relationship that has spanned over a decade. J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Josh Brooks characterized this partnership as a significant moment for Georgia Athletics, noting that placing the first on-field logos in support of women's sports sends a powerful message about the value, visibility, and growth of female student-athletes and programs.
