Greek Baritone Konstantinos Stafylides Triumphs in International Voice Competition
Konstantinos Stafylides, a 21-year-old Greek baritone, won the prestigious International Voice Competition Boris Martinovich, securing top honors in the Uni/Pre-professional division and earning significant career opportunities.

Greek baritone Konstantinos Stafylides emerged victorious in the International Voice Competition Boris Martinovich, demonstrating exceptional vocal talent and potential in the competitive world of opera. The 21-year-old from Thessaloniki claimed first place in the Uni/Pre-professional division, impressing an esteemed international panel of judges.
Stafylides' win comes with substantial professional benefits, including a $1000 prize and a coveted performance opportunity as Escamillo in the Clyde Opera Company's production of Carmen in Scotland this summer. Competition chair Boris Martinovich praised the young singer's "voice technique, stage presence and personality," predicting a bright future in the opera world.
Currently studying with American baritone Kim Josephson, Stafylides has already performed notable roles including Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro and Marcello in La Bohéme. He holds a Classical Singing Diploma from the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki and is pursuing an Integrated Master of Composition and Musicology at Aristotle University.
The competition featured talented vocalists from diverse international backgrounds, with winners representing countries including China, Korea, Russia, the United States, and Romania. Stafylides' triumph highlights the global nature of opera training and the ongoing development of emerging classical vocal talent.
