Harford Community Action Agency Elevates Food Pantry to 'Harford Food Bank'
The Harford Community Action Agency's renaming of its food pantry to the 'Harford Food Bank' underscores its intensified commitment to combating hunger in Harford County, marked by a celebratory event and community support.

The Harford Community Action Agency (HCAA) has officially renamed its food pantry to the 'Harford Food Bank', a move that signifies its enhanced dedication to addressing hunger within the community. This renaming reflects the agency's broader mission and the significant role it plays in supporting Harford County residents facing food insecurity.
A breakfast celebration on May 13th commemorated the renaming, gathering nearly 100 attendees including elected officials, community leaders, and sponsors. The event not only served as a platform to express gratitude towards stakeholders but also to highlight the food bank's critical work. Proclamations from the Harford County Council and County Executive Bob Cassilly underscored the community's recognition of HCAA's efforts.
HCAA CEO Pamela Craig emphasized that the new name better represents the agency's commitment to the community, revealing that the food bank serves 13 Harford County residents every hour. The support from sponsors like the Bel Air Lions Club, which holds naming rights for the year, and others such as the Rotary Clubs of Harford County and Maison Nord Farm, is pivotal to the food bank's operations.
This development is crucial as it not only rebrands the HCAA's food assistance services but also reinforces the community's collective effort to eliminate hunger. The renaming to 'Harford Food Bank' is a testament to the agency's ongoing mission to provide essential services and support to those in need, ensuring no resident has to face hunger alone.
