Hivelocity, a portfolio company of Valterra Partners, has announced the sale of its colocation services business at 350 E. Cermak Road, Chicago (ORD1) and 36 NE 2nd Street, Miami (MIA2) to Digital Realty, the largest global provider of cloud and carrier-neutral data center solutions. This transaction enables Hivelocity to intensify its focus on bare metal, enterprise cloud, and virtual server offerings while expanding its strategic partnership with Digital Realty to ensure customers receive superior service standards.

Digital Realty's ownership of the underlying facilities and extensive experience in operating global data centers guarantees that customers in Chicago and Miami will continue to experience reliable, high-quality support. Jeremy Pease, CEO of Hivelocity, stated, "Digital Realty is ideally suited to acquire these assets and is well positioned to drive incremental value to our customers at these locations." The collaboration between the two companies spans over ten global locations, integrating Hivelocity's bare metal solutions with Digital Realty's global platform, PlatformDIGITAL®, to provide agile hybrid solutions and support for digital transformation initiatives.

Faramarz Mahdavi, VP of IT Infrastructure and Operations at Digital Realty, emphasized the priority of delivering a seamless transition, giving customers access to innovative solutions and industry-leading reliability through MarketplacePORTAL, their global customer access platform. This acquisition strengthens Digital Realty's position as a trusted global partner, expanding service capabilities in two existing data centers without interrupting customer operations.

Kevin Reed, Managing Director at Valterra Partners, highlighted the successful outcome for investors, reflecting the strength of their investment strategy and value creation in partnership with industry leaders. Hivelocity will continue to provide and grow colocation services at its core facilities, alongside bare metal and cloud hosting services across the US and internationally, leveraging seamless integration with Digital Realty's network.
