Holy Cross Health Launches Advanced Rehabilitation Center with Cutting-Edge Therapies

Holy Cross Health has officially opened the Jon & Helaine Ayers Rehabilitation Center, a facility that stands out in Broward County for its advanced rehabilitation therapies. The center, which underwent a complete renovation, now boasts eight new pieces of state-of-the-art equipment, thanks to a $2 million donation from Jon and Helaine Ayers. This investment significantly enhances the center's ability to assist patients in recovering from strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, and managing conditions like Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis.

The rehabilitation center adopts a holistic approach, focusing not only on physical recovery but also addressing the emotional and cognitive aspects of rehabilitation. Pierre Monice, MBA, FACHE, President and CEO of Holy Cross Health, highlighted the transformative impact of the Ayers' donation, emphasizing the center's commitment to compassionate, innovative healthcare.

Among the innovative technologies introduced are the Balance Quest TRV Chair for vertigo treatment, the C-Mill treadmill for gait training, and the EksoNR robotic exoskeleton for walking rehabilitation. These tools represent a leap forward in rehabilitation technology, offering patients unprecedented opportunities for recovery.

Jon Ayers, a board member of Holy Cross Health and a quadriplegic following a cycling accident, shared his personal connection to the project. His experience underscores the importance of access to advanced rehabilitation therapies, a vision he and his wife Helaine have helped realize through their generous support.
