Hong Kong Tech Companies Secure Middle East Partnerships Through GITEX Global 2025
Hong Kong's innovation and technology sector achieved significant business breakthroughs in the Middle East market through strategic participation in GITEX Global 2025, with multiple companies securing partnerships and memoranda of understanding.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) collaborated to present two technology pavilions at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, featuring 22 exhibitors showcasing artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet of Things and green technology solutions. This strategic initiative provided Hong Kong's innovation and technology enterprises with direct access to Middle Eastern markets and facilitated numerous business connections that yielded immediate results.
Robocore Technology Limited emerged as one of the standout success stories from the exhibition. The company engaged in discussions with a multinational outdoor advertising company considering global deployment of Robocore's advertising robots. CEO Roy Lam reported establishing connections with more than 250 Middle Eastern companies during the five-day event, with many expressing interest in purchasing robots or becoming local distributors. Most significantly, Robocore confirmed plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Omani authorities to co-establish an AI and Robotics Center in Oman, advancing localized talent training and implementing cross-departmental pilot projects.
The HKTDC enhanced networking opportunities by hosting a dinner on October 14 in collaboration with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Dubai, attracting approximately 100 industry representatives from Hong Kong and the region. Winnie Leung, founder of WYNI Technology, noted that the event helped bridge the gap between Hong Kong's I&T enterprises and Middle Eastern markets by facilitating connections with local banks and companies to advance business expansion efforts. The company plans to follow up on potential partnerships to solidify its Middle East presence.
Canpanion Group Limited leveraged the networking opportunities to engage with a local education company, exploring integration of their technology into inclusive education programs. The company also established contact with relevant local authorities and will further explore collaboration opportunities through assistance from the Dubai Economic and Trade Office. Additionally, another local educational institution expressed interest in partnering with Canpanion and government entities to establish an AI school, fostering a comprehensive ecosystem for smart education development.
Concurrent with GITEX Global, HKSTP established a pavilion at Expand North Star from October 12-15 at Dubai Harbour, showcasing innovative solutions from 10 park companies. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University also participated in the exhibition, demonstrating the breadth of Hong Kong's technological capabilities. The HKTDC continues its strategy of leading Hong Kong businesses to major international tech exhibitions, reinforcing Hong Kong's position as a global innovation and technology hub. Following the success at GITEX Global 2025, the organization will again organize Hong Kong Tech Pavilions at CES in Las Vegas in January, MWC 2026 in Barcelona in March, and VivaTech in Paris, providing continued platforms for I&T companies to showcase cutting-edge technologies to international markets.
