Indian Wells Extends Epson Tour Championship Sponsorship Through 2026, Securing Pathway for Women Golfers

The City of Indian Wells has solidified its commitment to women's professional golf by extending its presenting sponsorship of the Epson Tour Championship through 2026. This partnership ensures the season-ending tournament will continue to be hosted at Indian Wells Golf Resort, where 108 elite athletes will compete for LPGA Tour cards and a $250,000 purse.

The championship serves as the final tournament of the Epson Tour season, where the top finishers earn their LPGA Tour cards for the following season. The winner will receive $37,500 and 650 points toward the Race for the Card—the highest single-event points total available all season. This tournament represents the culmination of years of training and competition for aspiring professional golfers.

Bruce Whitman, Mayor of Indian Wells, emphasized the city's dedication to supporting world-class sports, stating, "Having hosted BNP Paribas Open, one of the largest events of the year in tennis, for nearly 50 years, we are thrilled to once again welcome the biggest pro-event on the Epson Tour at our premier golf destination." The city's ongoing investment in the tournament underscores the growing importance of women's professional golf and provides stability for athletes working toward their LPGA dreams.

Jody Brothers, the Epson Tour's Chief Business and Operating Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the continued partnership, noting that "the 2024 playing offered a world-class experience for our athletes and staff, as well as giving the community a sneak peek into the future stars of the LPGA." The extension through 2026 provides long-term certainty for players, sponsors, and golf fans alike.

Golf enthusiasts have additional opportunities to engage with the tournament through the official Pro-Am held on Wednesday of tournament week, where participants can play alongside future LPGA Tour stars. The Epson Tour, entering its 45th competitive season in 2025, has demonstrated significant growth over the past decade, expanding from 15 tournaments and $1.6 million in prize money to $5 million awarded across 20 events. The tour's alumni have won 406 LPGA Tour titles, including 51 major championships, highlighting the critical role the Epson Tour plays in developing golf's next generation of stars.
