inDrive, a global mobility platform operating in 48 countries, has launched its inDrive.Money financial service in Brazil through a partnership with Latin American fintech EmpreX. The initiative provides drivers with access to loans up to R$3,000 (approximately USD 548) directly through the inDrive app, which ranks as the world's second-most downloaded ride-hailing application.

The service addresses significant financial inclusion challenges faced by gig economy workers in Brazil. Despite the country's leadership in fintech innovation, many drivers remain underserved by traditional banking institutions that require extensive credit history, while informal loans often carry punitive interest rates. Alexander Kurchin, Head of Growth at inDrive.Money, stated that the company's mission centers on empowering people with fair choices, noting that Brazil represents one of their most important global markets with hundreds of thousands of driver partners depending on the platform for income.

The loan structure offers practical flexibility for drivers, with approved borrowers receiving credit featuring an average five-month term until the first payment. Approximately 10% to 14% of each ride's value is automatically allocated toward loan repayment, creating a smooth process without fixed daily commitments. Drivers retain the option to make payments directly to EmpreX if preferred, providing additional cash flow management flexibility across multiple platforms.

Stefano Mazzaferro, Country Manager of inDrive in Brazil, emphasized that the service goes beyond financial inclusion by offering access to the right product at the right time through their app. The model operates with low-interest loans, representing a significant differentiator from credit card-based solutions currently available in Brazil's mobility landscape. The initiative reinforces the company's purpose of fighting injustices and expanding freedom of choice for partner drivers.

EmpreX manages the entire assessment process through its partnership with BMP SCD, a licensed Brazilian financial institution, ensuring regulatory compliance. The fintech handles all aspects from analysis and scoring to terms and financing. Initial operational data shows promising results, with 86% of borrowers indicating they would take out another loan if needed and would recommend the solution to others. Drivers who accessed financing have demonstrated increased engagement with the platform.

Silvan Roth, CEO of EmpreX, highlighted how the integration transforms complex financial workflows into simple app-based processes, putting real working capital in drivers' pockets exactly when needed. The service aims to expand to all cities where inDrive operates in Brazil, currently available in approximately 90 locations including major cities like Manaus, Fortaleza, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, and Florianópolis, as well as mid-sized cities such as Campinas and Marabá.

By incorporating financial services directly into its mobility platform, inDrive continues its mission to combat injustices while strengthening financial inclusion and contributing to Brazil's national economy. The service provides drivers with crucial financial tools for vehicle repairs, fuel, unexpected expenses, and overall economic independence, supporting their daily livelihoods without resorting to loans with exorbitant terms.
