The Jaime & Blanca Jarrín Foundation (JBJF), alongside Los Defensores, has opened its 2025 Scholarship Application Program, targeting college students in law and journalism from June 23 to July 20. This initiative, themed 'The Power of Believing,' highlights the significant impact of mentorship and financial support on students from underserved communities, encouraging them to pursue their dreams against all odds.

Nicole Cordero of Los Defensores emphasized the life-changing effect of hearing 'I believe in you,' a sentiment that fuels resilience and self-confidence among students. The partnership between JBJF and Los Defensores through the Siempre Contigo community initiative aims to bridge educational gaps and foster the next generation of Latino leaders in fields where their voices are critically needed.

Jaime Jarrín, co-founder of JBJF, underscored the importance of investing in youth education as a means to strengthen communities. The scholarship program requires applicants to have a 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and be enrolled in a California-based school, among other criteria. Cruzzanna Hernandez, a 2023 scholarship recipient, shared how the support transformed her educational journey, enabling her to complete her degree at CSULB and inspire others.
