The International Whisky Competition Committee announced Kavalan Distillery's Kavalan Solist Fino Sherry Single Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky as the Whisky of the Year at its 16th edition, held in Louisville, Kentucky. Scoring an impressive 97.04 points, this Taiwanese whisky not only clinched the top honor but also became the first non-Scottish distillery to do so, highlighting the global expansion and recognition of whisky craftsmanship beyond traditional regions.

Mr. Yu-Ting Lee, Chairman of King Car Kavalan, expressed pride in the achievement, stating it reaffirms Taiwan's position in the whisky world. The competition's director, Max A. Solano, praised the whisky for its balance and complexity, which distinguished it among the entries.
