LaFleur Minerals Launches Confirmation Drilling at Swanson Gold Deposit to Support Beacon Mill Restart
LaFleur Minerals has initiated a confirmation drilling program at its Swanson Gold Deposit in Québec, marking a significant step toward restarting gold production amid record market prices.

LaFleur Minerals Inc. has commenced a 10-hole confirmation drilling program at its Swanson Gold Deposit located in Val-d'Or, Québec, representing a crucial advancement toward near-term gold production. The program supports a Preliminary Economic Assessment for restarting operations at the company's Beacon Gold Mill, with drilling conducted by Environmental Resources Management to validate historical results, strengthen the geological model, and provide new core samples for metallurgical testing.
CEO Paul Teniere emphasized that this work constitutes a key milestone in the company's strategy to resume gold production during a period of record market prices. Assay results from the twinned holes are anticipated in the coming weeks, which will provide critical data for evaluating the deposit's economic viability. The Swanson Gold Project spans approximately 18,304 hectares and includes multiple gold-rich prospects previously held by Monarch Mining, Abcourt Mines, and Globex Mining, consolidated by LaFleur along a major structural break hosting the Swanson, Bartec, and Jolin gold deposits.
The project's accessibility by road enhances its development potential, offering direct access to several nearby gold mills. LaFleur's fully-permitted and refurbished Beacon Gold Mill, capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day, is being considered for processing mineralized material from Swanson as well as for custom milling operations for other nearby gold projects. This drilling initiative represents a strategic move to capitalize on favorable gold market conditions while advancing district-scale gold projects in the Abitibi Gold Belt. The confirmation of historical data and subsequent metallurgical testing outcomes will be instrumental in determining the timeline for production resumption and potential custom milling opportunities, positioning LaFleur to potentially deliver long-term value through its resource-stage assets.
