Legendary Band Klymaxx Robbed in San Francisco Area, Losing Thousands in Gear and Personal Items

The iconic all-female band Klymaxx, featuring Cheryl Cooley, experienced a devastating smash and grab theft in Burlingame, California, after performing shows celebrating Juneteenth. The incident occurred on June 23, 2025, at Kincaid's restaurant parking lot, where the band's rental vehicle was broken into, resulting in the loss of professional gear and personal items valued at several thousand dollars.

Despite the presence of a security guard, no preventive measures were taken during the theft. The Burlingame Police responded promptly, with Officer Theo notably assisting by sweeping broken glass from the vehicle. Stolen items included musical equipment, luggage, clothing, passports, IDs, jewelry, computers, and thousands of dollars in cash, leaving the band members stranded and missing flights.

Band member KK 'Funktress' Ross drove the group back to Los Angeles in a grueling 7-hour journey. Charis Jones, COO of Klymaxx Music, LLC, emphasized the violation of personal safety and the impact on the band's livelihood. A GoFundMe has been set up to help replace the stolen items, as the band aims to continue their 40th Anniversary Tour, celebrating decades of empowering music.
