Love Your Liver Campaign Targets Liver Cancer Health Disparities in Asian American Communities
Blue Faery's Love Your Liver campaign addresses critical liver cancer risks among Asian Americans by providing culturally sensitive education and prevention resources, highlighting significant health disparities in hepatitis B infection and liver cancer screening.

Blue Faery: The Adrienne Wilson Liver Cancer Association is launching its fifth annual Love Your Liver campaign to address liver cancer risks specifically impacting Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. The initiative focuses on critical health disparities that make liver cancer a significant challenge for this population.
Research indicates Asian Americans face twice the risk of hepatitis B infection compared to White Americans, a leading cause of liver cancer. Foreign-born Asian Americans experience even higher infection rates, complicated by language barriers, cultural stigma, and limited healthcare access.
The campaign provides multilingual resources emphasizing prevention strategies, including hepatitis B vaccination, regular liver screenings, alcohol reduction, and targeted dietary recommendations. A key component is the upcoming free online event, 'Love Your Liver Live' on May 8, 2025, featuring liver cancer specialist Dr. Daneng Li, who will discuss liver health, screening, and treatment in both Chinese and English.
By offering culturally sensitive educational tools, Blue Faery aims to empower AAPI individuals to proactively manage their liver health. The organization recognizes that early detection and prevention are crucial in addressing this significant health challenge within the community.
