MAHLE Dayton Marks Century of Innovation in Automotive Thermal Management

MAHLE Dayton recently commemorated its 100th anniversary, a milestone that underscores its enduring role in the automotive industry's evolution, particularly in thermal management and fluid systems. The Dayton, Ohio facility, spanning over 1.2 million square feet, has been pivotal in supplying high-quality components to major automotive manufacturers across North America. This celebration not only honors the facility's rich legacy but also its forward-looking approach to sustainable mobility solutions, including products for internal combustion, hybrid, and fully electric vehicles.

Jumana Al-Sibai, a member of the MAHLE Group Management Board for Thermal and Fluid Systems, emphasized the facility's reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation. 'Our facility supplies major automotive manufacturers across North America, reinforcing its reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation,' Al-Sibai stated. This commitment is further evidenced by MAHLE's plans to expand its presence and activities in the USA, aligning with its strategy to shape the future of mobility.

The Dayton facility specializes in manufacturing essential thermal components, such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) modules, radiators, engine cooling modules, and viscous fan clutch drives. These products are crucial for passenger comfort and vehicle efficiency, showcasing MAHLE's role in advancing automotive technology. Located at the intersection of three major transportation routes, the plant is strategically positioned to meet future demands in electrification and energy-efficient thermal systems.

MAHLE's journey in Dayton began in 1925, evolving through various ownerships before MAHLE acquired the plant in 2013 as part of its expansion in thermal management production in the USA. Today, MAHLE operates 15 locations across the USA, with its North American headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan, employing nearly 5,000 people in 2024. The company's global footprint and commitment to innovation underscore its vision for climate-neutral mobility, focusing on electrification, thermal management, and other technologies to reduce carbon emissions.
