Amid projections that more than six in ten U.S. adults will develop cardiovascular disease within three decades, major retailers across America are mobilizing to support the American Heart Association's Life Is Why campaign this February during American Heart Month. The initiative comes at a crucial time as cardiovascular disease rates continue to rise, threatening to significantly impact public health outcomes nationwide.

The campaign has attracted support from prominent retailers including AT&T, CVS Health, Kroger Health, and Orangetheory Fitness, with new participants Chinese Laundry, Reebok, and QVC joining this year. Participating companies will enable customers to make donations at checkout points both in-store and online, with funds supporting critical cardiovascular research and health initiatives.

The timing of this retail collaboration is particularly significant given recent research findings from the American Heart Association indicating the widespread reach of cardiovascular disease. This cooperative effort between retail giants and the healthcare sector represents a strategic approach to addressing what has become a major public health concern.

'To overcome today's biggest health challenges and accelerate that future, each of us needs to be part of the progress,' said Marsha Jones, 2023-2025 volunteer chairperson of the Board of the American Heart Association, highlighting the campaign's importance in supporting breakthrough research and improving healthcare accessibility.

The initiative aligns with the Association's 2028 Impact Goal, focusing on implementing proven solutions in science, policy, and care for healthier communities.
