Menlo Security Integrates Google Gemini AI for Advanced Browser Threat Protection
Menlo Security's integration with Google Cloud's Gemini AI models enhances phishing detection capabilities to block over 99.5% of zero-hour social engineering attacks directly within browsers.

Menlo Security has expanded its integration with Google Cloud, leveraging the Vertex platform with Gemini models to significantly enhance phishing and credential theft prevention capabilities. The enhanced Menlo Security HEAT Shield AI now provides advanced protection against zero-hour social engineering and brand impersonation attacks that target users through browser-based threats.
Threat actors are rapidly evolving their tactics, employing sophisticated social engineering techniques that often bypass traditional, signature-based security tools. According to Ramin Farassat, Chief Product Officer at Menlo Security, "Social engineering and brand impersonation attacks are becoming increasingly convincing and difficult to detect with traditional security measures." The integration with Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform and Gemini models enables Menlo to identify and block over 99.5% of these novel threats as they occur directly within the browser.
The enhanced protection addresses specific threat types including fake CAPTCHA pages and fraudulent remote tech support scams designed to steal credentials. This represents a significant advancement in combating attacks that would have been impossible to stop just months ago, providing organizations with critical protection against evolving browser-based threats.
Additionally, Menlo Security is releasing Menlo Sidekick, an AI-powered natural language agent that simplifies and streamlines security analytics. Powered by Gemini models, Sidekick accelerates workflows for administrators and security operation teams by allowing them to describe what they're looking for in natural language, reducing the time and expertise needed for critical tasks such as threat identification, platform usage analysis, and security report generation.
Vineet Bhan, Director of Security and Identity Partnerships at Google Cloud, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, "As businesses integrate AI into their core operations, they face a new set of security challenges. Our partnership with Menlo Security is important to addressing this, giving customers the advanced tools needed to protect their data, maintain control, and innovate confidently in the era of AI."
The language translation capabilities of Google's Gemini models further expand platform accessibility, allowing users to work in their preferred language while maintaining security effectiveness. These integrations represent the latest development in the ongoing collaboration between Menlo Security and Google Cloud, focused on leveraging cutting-edge AI capabilities to simplify security operations and protect organizations from advanced browser-based threats in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
